I-World Health Organisation (WHO) ikhuphe isikhokelo esicebisa ukuba kungasetyenziswa izithambisi ezingeyoswekile (NSS) ukuze kulawulwe ubunzima.
I-NSS zizinto ezinokusetyenziswa endaweni yeswekile zasimahla eziphantsi okanye ezingenazo iikhalori kwaye zihlala zithengiswa, ngokutsho kwe-WHO, njengoncedo lokunciphisa umzimba okanye ukugcina ubunzima obusempilweni. Zikwacetyiswa njengendlela yokulawula iswekile egazini kubantu abanesifo seswekile.
Ingcebiso ye-WHO isekelwe kwiziphumo zophononongo olucwangcisiweyo lobungqina obubonisa ukuba ukusetyenziswa kwe-NSS akuboneleli ngenzuzo yexesha elide ekunciphiseni amafutha emzimbeni kubantu abadala okanye ebantwaneni.
Iziphumo zophando kwisikhokelo zibonise ukuba ukutya i-NSS eninzi kunxulunyaniswa nokunyuka kwama-23% komngcipheko wesifo seswekile sohlobo lwesibini xa sityiwa kwiziselo ezineswekile ze-NSS kunye nokunyuka kwama-34% komngcipheko xa songezwa ngabantu kwaye sityiwa ekutyeni naseziseloni.
